Preliminary Design
FBCS has provided preliminary design for countless Baptist churches over the years. We start with a feasibility study to determine exactly the needs and resources the church has regarding their proposed building project. We proceed with preliminary designing that can be reviewed and altered by the church until it results in the concept desired. This preliminary design, which will include a rendering, can then be used by the church for promotion and fundraising.
Architectural Planning
The preliminary design can then be given to a local architect or FBCS can refer the church to an architect for a complete set of construction documents; this would include structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing plans. FBCS also does architectural contract reviews and architectural plan reviews to ensure plans reflect the proper scope of work and will address any issues through submission of an RFI (request for information) to architect or engineers as needed.
Services Related to Project
FBCS can produce contractual forms, pay requests and lien releases for the church and assist in putting together your pay application that is submitted to the bank.
Building Process
When FBCS is employed to be the on-site construction manager, we provide the aforementioned value engineering, bidding of trades and screening of subcontractors, working closely with the church on any changes required to get the result the church needs. We keep track of all expenditures using the QuickBooks contractor software which tracks all contracts and purchase orders. No monies are spent without a contract or purchase order being issued. When it comes to the church’s funds, there are no grey areas.
